What a weekend.

Formula G Autogymkhana at Manston Raceway Park — rounds 3 and 4 of the Battle Series — and I am still buzzing. Wet runway, two cars, a packed paddock, and that feeling you only get when the car is hooked up and everything clicks.

Saturday I put the BMW E90 M3 into Street. Last time out I got caught without wet tyres. Not this time. Wets on, confidence up, and the M3 just danced. First place. Proper grin in the helmet.

Then, for the fun of it, I entered my standard street car into Modified Pro. No big build. Just a road car against the serious kit. Qualified first. Second on Saturday. Third on Sunday.

Two firsts in Street. A second and a third in Pro. I'll take that all day.

This is why I keep racing. Gymkhana is car control in public — slip, grip, commitment, hit the mark, do it again. Same discipline I take onto a film set: precision driving, camera-car and pod work, chases, drifts, the stuff that has to look dangerous and land safe. When productions hire me as a precision driver, stunt double or action director, this is the homework.

The weekend didn't stop at the last cone either. Straight after racing I cleaned and prepped the M3 — it was booked the next day on a TV promotion, with me back behind the wheel. That's the dual life I love: compete hard, then put the same cars and the same hands on a job. Both E90 M3s are available to hire for film, TV, commercials and events, with me as the driver if you need the full package.
